Action Syntax

Actions in Runway take the general form:

action description [contexts] [time] [energy] [tags] [incubation] [!]

Only the description is mandatory.

You can specify as many contexts as you like, each a single word starting with an "@" symbol. A default @unknown is assumed if none is specified and no better default can be determined.

Time is of the form N(m, min, mins, minute, minutes) or N(h, hr, hrs, hour, hours). For example: 15min, 15m, 2hours, 2h. Time defaults to 20minutes.

Energy can be one of: "n", "s", "l", "none", "some", lots and defaults to "some".

Tags can be any single word. Multiple tags are allowed. An action with only a description and tags must use a semi-colon (;) separate the description from the tags. For example:

call dad for his birthday; personal urgent obligations

In this case the action description is "call dad for his birthday" and the tags are "personal" "urgent" and "obligations"

The exclamation mark "!" means add the action to the "Do Today" list immediately. Therefore it will not appear in the default “To Do” list.
